Crime Rates for big American Cities. Which American cities are the most dangerous?

The topic of safety in American cities has always been a controversial one in news and politics. All of US are at USC, in Los Angeles, which is one of the largest cities in America, and it is also notorious for its high crime rates. Us students are told how the outside of USC is unsafe, yet we don't know the actual statistics about crimes in the area. By using this chart, students and residents can compare the safety of the city they live in compared to similar ones to make informed decisions about where to live and what to watch out for.


Data tables below give raw data from the FBI's Crime Data Explorer website, which is updated yearly. The data is from 2024, and includes some of the biggest American cities, including Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, and San Francisco. The goal is that users can look at this data to compare crime rates.
